“Freedom is a state of mind.”
In 1948, Charlie (Michael A. Goorjian) returns to Soviet Armenia, the country his family fled when he was a child, hoping to find some trace of where he comes from. Goorjian, who also wrote and directed, has him thrown into prison on a false charge, where a cell window looks into the home of a guard named Tigran (Hovik Keuchkerian). What a man in the worst place can still reach for, even the ordinary rooms of strangers, is what the film is about.
