Acceptance
By using Perfery ("the service," "we," "our") at perfery.com, operated by Perfery LLC, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Accounts
You can use most of Perfery without an account. If you create one, you must be at least 16 years old, provide accurate information, and keep your sign-in secure: you are responsible for activity under your account. One account is shared with Castmates, our film trivia game; these terms cover both. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the service, and you can delete your account yourself at any time from your profile’s Import & export room.
Your data is yours
Everything you put into Perfery, your ratings, watched history, watchlists, collection, and the taste profile built from them, belongs to you. You can export it all as one file, or permanently delete it along with your account, whenever you like. How we handle it is described in the Privacy Policy.
Use of the service
Perfery is for personal, non-commercial film discovery and collection tracking. You may not scrape or harvest data at scale, circumvent rate limits, probe or disrupt the service, misuse other users’ data, or use the service for any unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access if we believe use violates these terms or harms the service.
Paid membership (Perfery+)
This section applies once paid membership is available. Payments are handled by our merchant of record (Paddle or Lemon Squeezy), who is the legal seller and handles tax and invoices. We never see or store card numbers. Membership auto-renews monthly or annually at the price shown at checkout; we email a reminder before each renewal. You can cancel anytime in one click from your account, effective at the end of the paid period. Refunds: within 30 days of a charge, then non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Features that were free stay free, paid membership only adds.
Letterboxd
Perfery is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Letterboxd. When you paste public Letterboxd URLs or import a Letterboxd export, you are responsible for complying with Letterboxd’s terms and policies when using their data with Perfery.
Movie data and ratings
Movie metadata and recommendations are powered by TMDb, Wikidata (CC0 licensed), and other third-party sources. Ratings (e.g. IMDb, Metascore) are provided for convenience; we do not guarantee their accuracy or availability. Community scores on Perfery are statistical estimates computed from member ratings. Always verify important information from official sources.
Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided "as is." We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, Perfery LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Perfery, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes we will provide notice on the site.
