Four young musicians in post-war England, drummer John Bonham, bassist John Paul Jones, guitarist Jimmy Page, and singer Robert Plant, are drawn to African-American blues and soul. They chase that sound across the Atlantic during the psychedelic era, hungry to build a band unlike any other. MacMahon weaves their separate apprenticeships into a single origin story, letting archival footage and the musicians' own voices trace how four disparate ambitions became one.
