Birds, Orphans and Fools

In the aftermath of a war, in a place and time the film never pins down, three people orphaned by political violence move into a life together. Andrej (Philippe Avron), Marta (Magda Vášáryová) and Yorick (Jiří Sýkora) answer the harsh world around them by behaving like children, playing and laughing as if nothing had been taken from them. Juraj Jakubisko keeps them at the center, three grown people in a game they cannot afford to stop.
