Caracas

A Neapolitan writer (Toni Servillo) returns to Naples after years away and finds his old friend Caracas (Marco D'Amore) still there, now converting to Islam after a youth as a neo-fascist skinhead. The two move through the city's cramped streets, circling each other with the wariness of people who shared violence they can't reconcile. D'Amore directs with a documentary eye, letting the camera linger on faces until the past feels like it's still happening.
