From the Manger to the Cross

Directed by Sidney Olcott71 minDrama

Synopsis

In 1912, a film crew went to Jerusalem and shot the life of Jesus on location, scene by scene, with verses from the Bible appearing between the pictures. Sidney Olcott keeps the camera still, so Jesus (Robert Henderson-Bland) and Mary (Gene Gauntier) move through each tableau as if posed for a painting. Gauntier, who also wrote it, builds the story toward the road named in the title, and the one man on it who walks it knowing where it ends.
