Gerald the Conqueror

Gérald (Fabrice Eboué) wants to restore his small corner of Normandy to its former grandeur through a massive historical park dedicated to William the Conqueror. He ropes in Laurent Sechard (Joaquim Fossi), a documentary filmmaker, to help build the monument. Eboué finds comedy in the gap between Gérald's fevered vision and the modest reality around him, building the film through deadpan exchanges and small absurdities of determined people.
