The Guardians are scattered across the galaxy, stealing batteries and bickering, when Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) learns his father is alive and searching for him. Ego (Kurt Russell), a celestial being of impossible power, offers Peter a chance to finally belong somewhere. James Gunn sends the team careening through space in a riot of color and noise, each member spinning in their own orbit, until they collide around a campfire under alien stars.
