“HEAR AND SEE 100 JUBILEE SINGERS!”
Zeke (Daniel L. Haynes) is a cotton farmer who lives with his family, until one bad moment leaves a man dead by his hand and sends him toward the pulpit. King Vidor's 1929 musical follows him as he takes up preaching, with Chick (Nina Mae McKinney) and Hot Shot (William Fountaine) never far from his path. Zeke has to keep a congregation's faith and his own conscience steady, and both can still be lost.
