“Welcome in the wonderful world of cinema!”

Simon (Denis Podalydès), a celebrated French filmmaker, wants to make a movie about factory workers fighting closure. His producer Viviane (Emmanuelle Bercot) threatens to cut the budget and rewrite the ending; his crew walks out; his lead actor Alain (Jonathan Cohen) is impossible; and his life is collapsing. Joseph (Stefan Crepon), an ambitious extra, agrees to document the chaos behind the camera as Simon's vision fractures against the weight of every compromise.
