Notes on Blindness

Directed by James Spinney, Pete Middleton90 minDrama, Documentary

Synopsis

John M. Hull, a writer and theologian, has been losing his sight for decades, and by 1983 it is gone entirely. To make sense of it, he talks into a cassette recorder, and Pete Middleton and James Spinney set those tapes to scenes with Dan Renton Skinner as Hull and Simone Kirby as his wife, Marilyn. The film treats blindness as a different way of living in the world, and Hull's voice, not his loss, is where it keeps looking.
