Out of Season

Mathieu (Guillaume Canet), a man married to someone distant, arrives at a coastal town to meet Alice (Alba Rohrwacher), a woman he once knew. Alice is married too, and they move through empty streets and grey beaches with the careful distance of people who know what they're risking. Brizé frames them against the off-season landscape, letting long takes and sparse dialogue carry the weight of what remains unspoken between them.
