Paternal Leave

Fifteen-year-old Leo (Juli Grabenhenrich) travels to the northern coast of Italy to meet her biological father Paolo (Luca Marinelli) for the first time. She arrives as a stranger in his house, where he lives with his new family: his wife Valeria (Gaia Rinaldi) and their young son Edoardo (Arturo Gabbriellini). Alissa Jung's debut film watches the slow tightening of their days together, finding the weight of what cannot be rushed.
