Pulgasari

Ami (Chang Son Hui) is a blacksmith's daughter in feudal Korea, living among villagers who have been starved by the orders of a controlling king. Shin Sang-ok, directing in North Korea during his abduction, follows her as she brings to life the metal-eating monster her late father shaped, a creature the villagers hope will push the king's armies back. Ami stands over the small clay figure her father left behind, and the villagers around her are hungry.
