Sailing Home

Jean-Paul Choveau (Jean-Paul Rouve) lives on the northern coast of France, where his sailboat sits in the garden and debts pile up on shore. He signs up for Virtual Regatta, an online simulation of the Vendée Globe race, and retreats to his boat for three months. Xavier Beauvois follows him through this strange voyage, watching how distance from land and proximity to family begin to heal what money and ambition had broken between them.
