Silent Friend
A single ginkgo tree witnesses three stories across a century in Marburg. In 1908, Dr. Tony Wong (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and Dr. Alice Sauvage (Léa Seydoux) work in quiet collaboration; in 1972, a young woman named Grete (Luna Wedler) tends the tree while her life darkens. Enyedi traces how people circle the same tree across generations, each leaving grief behind, the ginkgo's yellow leaves falling year after year on the same stone ground.
