Something Different

Eva Bosáková, a real Olympic champion gymnast, is deciding whether to retire while a punishing training schedule goes on around her. Věra (Věra Uzelacová) keeps house for a husband, Josef (Josef Langmiler), who hardly looks up, and the film cuts between the two women. Věra Chytilová mixes documentary footage with staged scenes in her first feature, and Věra keeps trying to find a life in her days that belongs to her.
