Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma

“Blood. Lust.”

A filmmaker (Hannah Einbinder) gets hired to direct a new Camp Miasma slasher and becomes obsessed with casting Billy (Gillian Anderson), who survived the original film decades ago. Schoenbrun builds the dread in ordinary conversations, finding horror in the space between what people say and what they mean. Billy sits alone in a motel room, the fluorescent light buzzing overhead, the past she buried still bleeding through.
