The Balloonist

A balloonist crashes into Gaby Raaymakers' (Sallie Harmsen) chicken coop, upending the careful routines of her small-town life. She tends her heritage birds and her daughter Mientje (Frieda Pittoors) while keeping the world at a distance, until this stranger arrives with debris and apologies. Oliehoek frames the collision between solitude and arrival through weathered hands and kitchen light, letting intimacy grow in the margins of ordinary days.
