“Nobody is innocent.”

Inspector Corrado Cosser (Giuseppe Battiston) wants to know what happened to Rebecca Zuin's body after it vanishes from the morgue. Her husband Bruno Forlan (Andrea Di Luigi) becomes the obvious suspect, but then a possibility takes root in his mind: Rebecca staged her own death to punish him. As Cosser digs deeper, the investigation fractures into doubt, and Bruno sits alone in an empty room, waiting for a knock that may never come.
