The Herd

A peasant family in 1978 Turkey, caught in a local blood feud, decides to sell its sheep in Ankara, far away. Şivan (Tarık Akan) and the rest of the clan load the animals onto a long train, where they pay bribes to petty officials and watch sheep die in the packed, airless wagons. Zeki Ökten follows them as the sick wife of one son worsens, her fever rising among the crowded animals.
