The Lacemaker
Pomme (Isabelle Huppert) is a quiet young hairdresser in Paris who rarely says more than she has to. On a holiday in Normandy she meets François (Yves Beneyton), a literature student from a comfortable family, and the two begin an affair. Claude Goretta, adapting Pascal Lainé's Prix Goncourt novel, watches them together as the gap between their backgrounds starts to show.
