The Night I Swam

A six-year-old boy (Kogawa Takara) wakes when his father (Takashi Kogawa), a fisherman, leaves for the town market in the dark. He can't get back to sleep, so he draws a picture in the quiet house and slips it into his satchel. Damien Manivel and Igarashi Kohei follow him toward school through snow-covered mountains, and the picture is meant for the father he has just watched leave.
