Synopsis

Nobody in the mountain village expects much of David Kinemon (Richard Barthelmess), the youngest in his family, a good-natured boy more at ease than ambitious. When circumstances put him in his brother's place as the community's mail carrier, his route carries him into the reach of the Hatburn brothers, among them Luke (Ernest Torrence). Henry King shot this silent drama in the Virginia hills, and David goes on carrying the mail, wanting only to be taken for a man.
