Water Drops on Burning Rocks

Directed by François Ozon86 minDrama, Romance, Comedy

“Based on the first full-length play by R.W. Fassbender.”

Synopsis

In 1970s Germany, Léopold (Bernard Giraudeau), a businessman of fifty, picks up twenty-year-old Franz (Malik Zidi) and takes him home. Franz moves into the apartment almost at once, and then both of their ex-girlfriends, Anna (Ludivine Sagnier) and Véra (Anna Thomson), turn up at the door. François Ozon, adapting Fassbinder's play, keeps it to a single apartment, where the grain of the film and the stagey rooms close in on the four of them.
