What Did the Lady Forget?

In a Tokyo household of the late 1930s, Professor Komiya (Tatsuo Saitō) lives under the firm rule of his wife Tokiko (Sumiko Kurishima). Their niece Setsuko (Michiko Kuwano) arrives from Osaka, high-spirited and a smoker, and soon talks her uncle into a night at a geisha house. When Setsuko is brought home tipsy by the student Okada (Shūji Sano), Tokiko starts to suspect her, and the quiet order of the house is what's at stake.
