Who's That Knocking at My Door

J.R. (Harvey Keitel) is a Catholic kid from Little Italy who spends his days drinking and joking with the same few friends, until he falls for The Girl (Zina Bethune) and talks about marrying her. Martin Scorsese, in his first feature, follows the two of them through a romance that runs on affection and a tangle of old ideas about women. J.R. wants a wife he can respect, and he finds out she has a past he can't accept.
