José Carlos Burle was a Brazilian film director, screenwriter, and composer. He was instrumental in the early development of Brazilian cinema, co-founding the Atlântida Cinematográfica in 1941, which became a pivotal studio in the country's film industry. Burle directed and wrote several influential films, including É com Este Que Eu Vou (1948) and Depois Eu Conto (1956).
